Letter From The Chair

Dear OCA Members and Friends,

Happy New Year! This time of year provides a great opportunity to reflect on the past and set goals for the future. This holds true for OCA.

As your new OCA Board Chair for 2019, I am honored and excited to serve in this role. I have seen first-hand the value that OCA offers. Over the years, OCA has provided me with relevant insights that I have been able to immediately apply to my work. When I was looking for a job I made networking connections through OCA. When I was traveling across the country conducting presentations at industry conferences I found a co-presenter through OCA.

The 2019 Board is working on an action plan to ensure OCA continues to be the learning community of choice for organization development and change management professionals in the greater Atlanta area. We have made a commitment to ensure OCA continues to provide insightful programs, networking connections, and opportunities to give back to various non-profit organizations through pro bono Service projects that will leverage and expand our expertise. Throughout the year, OCA members will be invited to participate in special interest pop-up groups. We want to grow our membership and partner with other organizations with a similar vision.

My fellow board members are: Moira De Ninno – Chair-Elect, Scott Hale, PhD – Service Committee Chair, and Rich Litner – Past Chair. On behalf of the OCA Board, I would like to encourage you to make a commitment to OCA this year through your membership, volunteering on the Board/Committee, and your ongoing participation in the activities OCA sponsors.

Please mark your calendar now. OCA’s 2019 monthly programs will be held the third-Thursday of the month from 6 pm to 8 pm. This year, we are planning a few field trips as well.

In summary, here is a quote from Delorese Ambrose, an OCA member for many years, and the 2007 Don Carter award recipient, “Leadership is tied to conviction. Leaders have a vision of a better future, they feel strongly about the need to go there”. Let OCA help you reach your 2019 goals.

Sincerely,

Carla G. Gracen

OCA Board Chair
